About us

PERSATUAN AUTISTIC MIRI (PAM)
Miri Autistic Association
美里自閉症協會

PAM was registered at the Registry of Society,in 2007 by a group of parents with autistic children.

PAM is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation that survives solely on fees from members and donations from corporate bodies, private businesses and the generosity of private individuals.

PAM was approved as a PUSAT JAGAAN (DAY CARE CENTRE) ON 14.08.2014

MISSION

Promote awareness and educate the public on autistic characteristics

Inculcate acceptance of autistic people by the public

Identify, promote and encourage the treatment, education and welfare of people living with autism

Seek resources for treating, training and caring for people living with autism

We want to make a positive difference

to the life of people living with autism!

VISION

Establish a home for autistic individuals, especially when their parents or guardian(s) are no longer around.

Improve existing training, development and support for autistic people.

Set up a Community-based Rehabilitation Centre under the support of the Welfare Department to lighten the financial load of the parents (2 years plan) and to accommodate the rapid increase of the autistic population.

Apply for a plot of land from the State Government for the purpose of building a home to care for matured autistic individuals (5 years plan).

In line with PAM’s mission and vision, a day-care centre Miri Autistic Centre was gradually formed and established in June 2010..

This is to provide academic, living/self-help technical skills and independent-development training for autistic children so that they can eventually be assimilated into society.
